Nowadays, the development of a society is contemplated from the perspective social and economic. In fact, we can define it like a process that undergoes, carries out and directs to a society, trying the well-being of its citizens through a continuous and sustainable economic growth, and leads to offer it equality of opportunities to all the people integrating it, allowing to participate them freely with equal capacity of individual decision and organizing themselves in the decision making that affects the community.

The companies are the main suppliers of goods and services for the people and the greater source of employment, reason why they are constituted in one of the organizations responsible for the generation and distribution of the wealth.

Beacuse of it, the companies have to take advantage of the local resources, that is, the human capital (knowledge, enterprising spirit, inventive, etc.) offered  by our territory, the existing capital and susceptible to contribute to the aims of the process of development and other resources like the geostrategic position, our climate, the landscapes that we inherited from the generations that preceded to us, etc.

The  Town hall of Tenerife, conscious about the development process and the roll the companies need to take, has tried to implement actions and instruments that contribute to orient and to support the process of island development, as much in their social scope, because of it, the importance that attributes to social and health actions, to groups like youth and the women, to the culture, the management of residues, the education, etc., like economic.

This support is shaped not only in the instrumentation of financial aid (subsidy, agreements with financial organizations to make possible the access to better financial conditions than the normal ones of market for the companies, etc.), but also the infrastructure impulse (insular warehouses, House of the Honey, etc.), technical support of different nature according to the productive sector, and the different measures in favor of the new entrepreneurs (education, subsidy and advising to the constitution of new companies, as much from the Corporation like through the Unique Window, among others).
