Who we are and what are we looking for


The Foundation of the Cabildo Insular for Training, Employment and Entrepreneurial Development (FIFEDE) was set up by the Tenerife Island Council, the Confederation of Businessmen of the Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and leading trade Unions, Comisiones Obreras and Unión General de Trabajadores, for the following purposes:

  • Qualifying human capital as a means of increasing values of social relation and identification in Tenerife.
  • Training, whatever the grade or gender, and the social and technical development of the population.
  • Contributing to generate a general framework for growth, competitiveness and employment.
  • Promoting Vocational Training for the employed and the unemployed.
  • Labour market insertion.
  • Promoting Entrepreneurial Development for the consolidation and creation of companies.
  • Implementing courses, projects or activities related to training, job creation or labour market insertion for workers and the unemployed, in addition to promoting entrepreneurship and social economy.
  • Implementing training activities for vulnerable persons, the disabled or other groups at risk of social exclusion and, where appropriate, serving as a collaborating institution for the provision of social services.
  • Organising seminars, courses, conferences and any other kind of activity directly or in collaboration with the government or private and public bodies.
  • Serving as a midway point between non university and university education, with a view to undertaking activities of mutual interest that will redound to the benefit of teacher and student training in areas within their competence.
  • Undertake studies that lead to an understanding of the social and economic reality of the island.

A supramunicipal institution at the service of society that will provide decisive support for presenting, implementing and following-up European projects.
