The Canary Islands Environmental Film Festival (FICMEC) and the Department of Equality of the Council of Tenerife are organising, on Tuesday 28, from 18:30 hours, a debate-talk by Patricia Gualinga, leader of the Kichwa Amazonian People of Sarayaku, in Ecuador, and recognised environmental and indigenous people's rights activist. Admission is free.

Patricia Gualinga, leader of the Kichwa people of Sarayaku (Ecuadorian Amazon), founder of the group of #AmazonianWomen Defenders of the Jungle, and president of the TIAM Foundation for human rights; collected last Saturday 25 in Garachico the Environmental Activism Outbreak award, granted by the International Environmental Film Festival of the Canary Islands (FICMEC) "for her commendable work occasionally putting her own life on the line, in defense of environmental sustainability in the Ecuadorian Amazon, being an international example of coexistence in harmony of human beings in nature". Don't miss it.
