Garachico is located in the north east of the island of Tenerife, in the beautiful region of Isla Baja, which also includes the municipalities of Los Silos, Buenavista del Norte and El Tanque. The town posses the title of the Town and Port of Garachico, as it was the island's major seaport for many centuries. Evidence of this commercial past can be seen in its rich historical heritage and exquisite seafood cuisine. Its abrupt coastline, volcanic landscapes and natural pools for lack of sandy beaches have played a defining role in the development of the town.
