Montaña de Los Frailes Natural Monument is a volcanic cone sparsely populated by xerophytic plants (plants which have adapted to dry environments). Cheirolophus webbianus has occasionally been spotted on its western slope.
Montaña de Los Frailes can be accessed from the TF-5 motorway via the exit for La Montañeta en La Orotava. The exit takes you on to the TF-333 leading up towards La Montañeta; after travelling for a kilometre, you will arrive at the Natural Monument

Montaña de Los Frailes was declared a Natural Monument and area of environmental sensitivity by Autonomous Region Act 12/94, which was later integrated into the Organisation of the Canary Islands Territory Act via Legislative Decree 1/2000.
