Mouflon (Ovis orientalis Gmelin, 1774) is an invasive exotic species introduced to the peaks of Tenerife in the 70s. This species represents a serious threat to the conservation of certain plant communities. Campaigns to control this species are organised annually.

The purpose of this control action plan is to eradicate the populations, in compliance with what is provided for in the following standards:

• Royal Decree 630/2013 (in Spanish), of August 2, which regulates the Spanish Catalogue of Invasive Exotic Species.
• Island Plan for the Ordinance of Tenerife (PIOT).
• Master Plan for the Use and Management of the Corona Forestal Natural Park Protected Natural Area
• Plan Rector de Uso y Gestión del Espacio Natural Protegido Parque Natural de Corona Forestal.
• Master Plan of the Chinyero Special Nature Reserve.
• Special Plan for the Las Lagunetas Protected Landscape.
