The painter Guillermo Vázquez Zamarbide shows his “Giro a contraluz” in the convent of Santo Domingo in La Laguna

The Argentine-Spanish artist Guillermo Vázquez Zamarbide is exhibiting the pictorial work “Giro a contraluz” (Turn against the light) until 1 February in the old Santo Domingo convent in La Laguna, inviting the spectator to enter the light that surrounds his works. The exhibition can be visited from 11:00 to 14:00 hours and from 17:00 to 20:00 hours from Monday to Friday, and on Saturday mornings.
“Giro a contraluz” is the last one in a cycle of three exhibitions and with which, as a whole, Guillermo Vázquez Zamarbide tries to rethink the personal situation of each one through a reflection on the direction of the chosen paths. According to the artist, this exhibition is inspired by feelings generated in a situation close to the unconscious, such as wakefulness. The name of the exhibition alludes to the moment in which, when seeing the light in front of us, we cannot see well and, as a consequence, we slow down our pace and think well about the movements we should make.
