The Museum of History and Anthropology offers on Friday 8, at 19:30 hours, the screening of the documentary "Isleños, a root of America" and a talk with the participation of Eduardo Cubillo, Ulises Martín Hernández (senior professor of Didactics of Social Sciences at the University of La Laguna), and Alejandro Escarabajal Morales (teacher and collaborator of the Isleños Society, in Louisiana).

The film-maker from Tenerife, Eduardo Cubillo, narrates in this documentary the history of the Canaries that went to Louisiana and tells the vicissitudes of a community that found its origins in the Canary Islands. It investigates the cultural legacy of an American community that, in the seventies, discovered its origin thanks to a historical research, which helped them to understand its speech, gastronomy and folklore. Thus, a key piece in its narrative and emotiveness is the original soundtrack, which had the collaboration of Scott Billington, a composer specialised in music with North American roots.
