TEA Tenerife Space of Arts launches The Videoclub, an area that proposes a reflection on the meaning of the image and cinematographic language. Different cycles of films related to art, classic films as well as other works that cannot be seen in commercial circuits will be screened. The first programme is entitled "Una ruta hacia el cine expandedido" (A route towards expanded cinema) and can be seen until 31 March free of charge from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00 hours.

The inaugural programme consists of "The Great Train Robbery" by Edwin S. Porter (United States, 1903); "Anchorage" by Shirin Neshat (1996 piece from the Ordóñez Falcón Photography Collection); and "Goodbye to Language" ("Adieu au langage") by Jean-Luc Godard (Switzerland, 2014). This cycle takes its name from the book written in the 1970s by film critic and theorist Gene Youngblood Expanded cinema. In it he popularised a term that referred to audiovisual works that deconstructed cinematographic language and abandoned classical narrative to transcend the darkness of the cinema room and be exhibited in spaces destined for art.
