The convent of San Sebastián de Los Silos hosts the exhibition ꞌGoya: Disasters of warꞌ

The old convent of San Sebastián, in Los Silos, will host the permanent exhibition "Goya in the Pérez Enríquez room: Disasters of war" in the Pérez Enríquez room. The exhibition includes different prints from the Spanish War of Independence. It can be visited from Monday to Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m. and entry is free.
The exhibition brings together some 80 facsimiles of the Disasters of War series, a luxury limited edition and numbered 0666 of a circulation of 2998 copies, acquired by the City Council in 2009. The series consists of 82 engravings, made between 1810 and 1815, and is divided into two parts: "Fatal consequences of the bloody war in Spain with Buonaparte", with scenes alluding to war and famine and “Other emphatic caprices", which includes political content as a critique towards absolutism and the power of the Catholic Church.
