The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra will offer on Friday 21, at 19:30, its closing concert of the season, which will be directed by its main conductor Antonio Méndez and will feature soprano Eleanor Dennis and baritone Hanno Müller-Brachmann, in what will be the premiere of both soloists with the ensemble. Tickets are available starting at €23.

Premiered in 1868 "A German requiem” represents the transition from musical classicism to romanticism, as well as translating individual expression. The author reveals this by not using Latin but writing in his mother tongue or in his own interpretation of death. Brahms avoids explicit relations to the understanding of Christian death, such as the Last Judgement or eternal salvation. The composer is concerned about death as a philosophical and vital problem, possibly influenced by the death of his mother and his mentor, Robert Schumann, which happened in a short period of time, the question surrounding his work is how to survive the death of a loved one.
