The Opera of Tenerife presents "Rigoletto", by Giuseppe Verdi with three functions on Tuesday 19, Thursday 21 and Saturday, November 23, at 7:30 p.m., it will be a tribute to the figure of Alfredo Kraus, on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of his death, which will be held in the Tenerife Auditorium. Tickets are on sale for € 56.
“Rigoletto" is a three-act drama with music by Giuseppe Verdi and an Italian libretto by Francesco Maria Piave, based on the play "Le roi s'amuse" ("By Order of the King") by Victor Hugo. In this opera, Verdi reflects all the visceral passions which characterise the nature of man. Until its première, on March 11, 1851 at the Teatro de La Fenice in Venice, it was a true ordeal for the composer who sees how it comes against the censorship of the authorities of the state of Lombardy-Venice [Austrian Empire], when addressing issues that are too risqué for the Italian society prior to its unification.
