Espacio TEA Candelaria puts on the '80s paintings in Spain' exhibition

TEA Tenerife Arts Space puts on the “80s paintings in Spain” exhibition at the Espacio TEA Candelaria located in Candelaria’s Old Town Hall Arts Space. The exhibition brings together a selection of works from the Los Bragales Collection and will be open until 20 March. It can be visited from Monday to Saturday, 9:30 to 13:30 and 16:00 to 20:00
The 1980s will go down in the history of art as a decade marking the return of painting, following the excessive conceptual and minimalist theorising of the years that preceded it. This celebrated return to painting occurred unanimously in museums and art centres throughout Europe and the United States, at a time when new artistic spaces were emerging, as was the case in Spain with the creation of IVAM (1986), CAAM (1989) and MNCARS (1992). At the same time, the presence of cultural spaces and collaborative environments for self-management also increased, such as the independent experimental Espacio-P centre launched by multi-faceted Tenerife-native artist Peter Garhel Tenerife in Madrid, 1981.
