Until 30 April 2017 the TEA, Tenerife Arts Space, hosts a new exhibition by the Tenerife painter Óscar Domínguez, which will focus on his time spent in Czechoslovakia, between the years 1946 and 1949. Some of these works are previously unseen in the Canary Islands. Open from 10:00 to 20:00, Tuesday to Sunday.

In February 1946, with the Second World War scarcely over, the Mánes art gallery in Prague held a group exhibition entitled "The art of republican Spain: Spanish artists from the Paris School." The exhibition was a huge success, and a substantial number of the 244 works on show, above all paintings, drawings and etchings, stayed in Czech and Slovak collections. Óscar Domínguez attracted a great deal of attention, not only for the quantity of works he exhibited (12), but above all for the strength of his charismatic personality, his originality and dynamic artistic coherence. He returned to Czechoslovakia several more times, organising exhibitions on each visit.
