On Thursday 22 at 19:30, the La Isla bookshop in Calle Imeldo Serís in Santa Cruz hosts the presentation of Jorge Molinero Huguet's book "Toda la muerte para dormir", followed by a debate. Admission is free.

El-Ouali Mustapha Sayed was the second leader of the Sahrawi independence movement (the Polisario Front) starting in1973. On 27 February 1976, months after Morocco's occupation of the former Spanish colony, he proclaimed the Sawrahi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in Bir Lehlou. He died on 9 June 1976, shot in the head during the siege in which Sahrawi combatants attacked the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott. Soon thereafter, Mauritania withdrew from the war and from the territory, recognising the SADR. Since then, El Uali or Lulei, has been a symbol of the fight for the liberation of this occupied people and a martyr in their struggle for liberation. In addition to the author, the debate will include the participation of the representative of Sahrawi women in the Canary Islands, Sukeina Ndiaye, and University of La Laguna professor, Juan Carlos Santamarta.
