On Wednesday 4 April at 19:30, the Museum of Nature and Mankind hosts the presentation of Rafael Arozarena's posthumous novel, "El señor de Faldas Verdes". The book, which took nearly a decade to come to fruition, is considered one of his greatest works. Admission is free.

"El señor de Faldas Verdes" tells the story of universal and everyday characters located in Sabinosa, on the island of El Hierro, to which the author confers a halo in the style of magical realism. Of all the characters in this novel, in which the author plays around with the title and the final line, it is necessary to focus on the "stranger", embodied in the nephew of Uncle Dacio and Aunt Inés. Rafael Arozarena Doblado (Santa Cruz de Tenerife 1923-2009) is one of the principle figures of Canary Islands contemporary literature: Winner of the Canary Islands Literature Prize in 2006 and member of the Fetasiano group (along with Isaac de Vega, Antonio Bermejo and José Antonio Padrón), he has written works in a wide range of literary genres. His first stories were published in the magazine "Arco" during the 1940s, along with his first books of poetry, "Romancero Canario" (1946) and "A la sombra de los cuervos" (1947).
