On Tuesday 24 at 19:00, the TEA Tenerife Arts Space holds a discussion panel entitled "El poder de la autorrepresentación. Feminismos negros" (The Power of Self-Representation. Black Feminisms). Linked to the exhibition Contra la piel, part of Área 60, the meeting will feature the participation of the curator of the eighth season of Área 60, Semíramis González, artist Rubén H. Bermúdez and founder of the Afrodiccionario project and member of the EFAE group, Mary Ilda Antonio Ramos. Admission is free until full capacity is reached.

Rubén H. Bermúdez (Madrid, 1981), who is currently exhibiting his work in "Contra la piel", works with images and is the author of the book "Y tú, ¿por qué eres negro?". He participates in the management and coordination of the Space formerly known as Afroconciencia and also collaborates with "Clavoardiendo Magazine". In addition, he is also a professor of workshops that emphasise self-representation and the importance of telling our own stories. "Y tú, ¿por qué eres negro?" is a project in which the creator speaks about his personal history, the consciousness of being of African descent and the reality of racism in Spain in the 21st century. Racist violence experienced daily and from childhood, told through a series of photographs and videos.
