The Royal Economic Society of the Friends of the Island of Tenerife (RSEAPT) hosts a talk by neurologist Antonio Alayón on the causes of addictions related to digital technologies, videogames and drugs in young people. It will take place on Tuesday 22 at 19:00. Admission is free.

75 % of secondary school students, between the ages of 14 and 18, consume or have consumed alcohol, 34 % tobacco, 26 % cannabis and 5 % hypnotics or sedatives. The expert will analyse these data taken from the survey on drug consumption in secondary school students in Spain, carried out by the Government Delegation for the National Plan on Drugs of the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality. He will also discuss the causes of some addictive behaviours among young people. According to Antonio Alayón, a specialist is Neurological Electrodiagnotics and Cerebrovascular Diseases, addiction cannot be understood without knowledge of the environmental circumstances in which each person's emotions, personality and values develop.
