From 10 to 20 July, the Museum of History and Anthropology in Tenerife holds one more year of the bookbinding workshop "A propósito del libro". The aim is to look at different book structures, both with and without the loom. It will take place at the Museum's La Laguna location, at Casa Lercaro, from 16:00 to 20:00. The registration period will be open until 9 July. For further information, please call 922 825 949 / 943.

The workshop will feature an array of bookbindings focused on the development of "artists' books" and "book-objects", in which the body of the book is made up of booklets or loose pages and which do not require the use of a loom. There will also be a final binding for which the use of a loom will be necessary, showing students the most classic part of the bookbinder's craft. Similarly, attendees will learn a wide range of terminology related to bookbinding and "artists' books", characteristics of paper and the infinite creative possibilities offered by the binding styles they will work with. The workshop will employ a theoretical and practical methodology in which each exercise is preceded by a theory-based introduction. Finally, the student will develop an individual model of each of the structures.
