On Wednesday, the sounds of Canary Islands popular culture and the stage production of the National Theatre of Tunisia kick off the second edition of the South Atlantic Performing Arts Market (MAPAS). The inaugural show "Canarias: vino al mundo" will promote the universality of the Islands' wines at the Tenerife Auditorium at 21:30. Admission is free until full capacity is reached. At 19:00, audiences will be treated to the play "Violence (s)", performed by the National Theatre of Tunisia at the Guimerá Theatre.

  • The National Theatre of Tunisia will be at the Guimerá Theatre. Founded in 1983, this stage project is a public entity whose objective is to develop the theatre through production and distribution. The play performed at MAPAS deals with the Tunisian Revolution and the constant struggle of young people in search of "a free world".
  • "Canarias: vino al mundo" is an original production of the South Atlantic Performing Arts Market based on a universal theme rooted in the Archipelago with musical direction by Benito Cabrera and stage direction by Jep Meléndez. Rhythms, choreographies, words and images come together in a dialogue with the audience that will savour the “sensations of wine, folk music and dance”.
