As part of the Nova Ars Organorum season, the International Early Music Festival in Tenerife (Fimante) brings organist Juan de la Rubia to the Symphony Hall of Tenerife Auditorium to give life to its one-of-a-kind 21st century organ on Sunday 22 at 12:00. Tickets are on sale for €15.

The concert will begin with the transcription for organ of Johann Sebastian Bach's famous "Chaconne for Violin", presenting a version enlarged by the instrument, and Felix Mendelssohn's "Sonata No. 4", which demonstrates the admiration the composer had for Bach and his style. The music of Guilmant represents a new period in organ music in which the instrument has evolved into what it is today and the piece by Charles Tournemire will expose the audience to the grandeur of this music. An improvisation by Juan de la Rubia closes out the programme, presenting the colourful palette of registrations and timbres of the king of instruments. The last time the Tenerife Auditorium's organ was played was in May 2015 for the closing concert of International Organ Week.
