Located in the north of Tenerife, this traditional Canarian farmhouse is home to the La Baranda House of Wine and offers visitors the opportunity to discover the island's rich wine-making heritage in a privileged setting while enjoying marvellous views of the sea and Mt Teide.

The Town Hall of El Sauzal acquired the La Baranda finca and the farmhouse in 1989 and then donated it to the Council of Tenerife in 1992 so it could be transformed into the Wine and Vine Museum.

House of Wine services and activities

• Take a tour of the various buildings in traditional Canarian architecture while enjoying views of Mt Teide, Valle de la Orotava and the island's north coast.

• Art gallery featuring paintings, sculptures and photographs
• Tasting room where every fifteen days visitors can sample a new selection of 12 wines, accompanied by Tenerife cheeses, nuts and dried fruit. Experts are on hand to provide information and advice.
• Open-air classical music concerts in the central courtyard throughout summer.
• Cellars offering a selection of 300 wines produced in Tenerife's five Designation of Origin regions for sale.
• Shop where visitors can purchase items related to the world of oenology and viticulture as well as to the history, gastronomy, folklore and traditions of Tenerife.
