Job experience placements

If you are aged between 16 and 24 and are unemployed , you can learn a trade while you work. Get more information at your local Employment Office or in the Workshop Schools, Youth Training Centres and Employment Workshops Department of the Canary Islands Employment Service in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

General conditions

  • Training up to a maximum of two years and one year in Youth Training Centres.
  • During the first six months, you will receive a mix of theory and practical classes and an attendance grant.
  • From the seventh month onwards, you will start to work for one of the project sponsoring bodies for which you will receive a salary.

What you will learn

  • Construction: bricklaying, carpentry, building maintenance, locksmithing, painting, etc.
  • Environment: gardening, forest work, rural tourism management, environmental rehabilitation, etc.
  • Agriculture-fishing: vinicultural, acquacultural, fishing and sea transport services, etc.
  • Services: home assistance, lifeguards, entertainment management, etc.
  • New technologies: graphic design and layout offset printing, new technologies in the field of communications, etc.
