Universidad Popular is a service offered by local town halls to promote cultural education and vocational training and revive popular traditions. It is aimed principally at adults who wish to pursue training in these areas or who simply wish to occupy their free time, participate in a variety of activities and build social relations. Other types of activities are generally run throughout the year to complement the study program, such as cultural tours and workshops.
