Honeys of Tenerife workshop

The island's unique and varied vegetation, coupled with its vast range of altitudes – as bees can be found as high up as on Mt Teide – make possible the production of excellent honeys.

Tenerife produces a wide range of honeys, and traditional beekeepers responsible for harvesting and making honey are known for their unique and high-quality products . The Centre for Consumer Training and Quality Promotion holds courses and workshops on how to indentify, describe and appreciate each type of honey.

Who are they aimed at?

Primary and secondary school students.

Workshop content

  • History of beekeeping and pollination.
  • Identification and classification of different types of honey, composition, quality, origin and traceability.
