Fish workshop

Fish, both white and blue, is one of the most recommended foods for everyone, especially for children and young people, because it provides calcium, essential for growth, and reduces cholesterol in the blood and all related conditions. However, the eating of fish is a difficult habit to implant amongst the youngest. This workshop from the Centre for Consumer Training and Quality Promotion helps educators and parents with this task.

Who it is aimed at

Third-year Primary School and first-year Secondary School Students.

Workshop contents

  • Main commercial marine species (including farmed species).
  • Minimum sizes for fishing and consumption.
  • The art of fishing and its utilization for the capture of different identified species.
  • Characteristics of fresh fish and its nutritional value.
  • Labelling, preservation, handling and presentation of fish in the fishmongers.
