The aim of the Online Training Platform run by the Tenerife Network of Public Internet Access Centres is to encourage residents to use new technologies, promote and facilitate the implementation of these technologies as well as promote the information and knowledge society by fostering the use of distance learning centres.

The platform offers free access to a wide range of online courses accredited by the University of La Laguna and is staffed by team of three permanent tutors.

Courses and workshops on offer as part of the initiative include: Introduction to Computing, Online Job Searching, Web 2.0 Tools, Safety on the Web, Online Government Services, Road Safety, The Internet as a Learning Tool, Web Resources for Women, Electronic National ID Cards (DNI), Management Software Packages, Safety on the Web, Online Volunteering, Emotional Intelligence, Image Editing, Create Your Own Blog, amongst others.

The Distance Learning Portal is in the first phase of a pilot program and can be accessed from distance learning centres that belong to the Island's Network of Public Internet Access Centres.
