Third edition of the internship programme Cabildo Inserta 3

The Island Council of Tenerife approved on 19 February 2019 the Programme of Professional Internships in the Island Council of Tenerife “Cabildo Inserta III” with the aim of improving the employability of unemployed people with university degrees, facilitating their subsequent insertion into the labour market of Tenerife, through the performance of professional internships in the Corporation performing functions related to their degree and thereby reducing the unemployment rate of this group in our island.

In view of the great success and given the good reception that this Programme has had in the two previous editions, Cabildo Inserta I and II, started in 2017 and 2018, the Council has considered it a priority to convene a third edition, thereby promoting the inclusion of vulnerable groups through the improvement of their employability, providing them with a work experience that facilitates the way for their subsequent insertion into the labour market.

The Programme, which will cover the entire island area, consists of professional internships in the Island Council of Tenerife and the interested parties must meet the following requirements:

  • Be registered with the Canary Islands Employment Service as a job seeker or applying for better employment.
  • No more than five years have elapsed, or seven in the case of people with functional diversity, since completion of studies.
  • Have no professional experience related to that qualification or the occupation demanded.
  • Hold a university degree or vocational training qualification of intermediate or advanced level or diplomas officially recognised as equivalent, as specified in the Programme.
  • To be registered in a municipality of the island of Tenerife for a minimum period of twelve (12) months in the last five years, prior to the date of publication of each call.
  • Those other specific requirements that are demanded according to the call that is made for each of the qualifications.

This new edition will improve the professional preparation of 41 university graduates, who will acquire their first professional experience related to their qualification from this Corporation through an internship contract that will have an initial duration of 8 months that can be extended. Likewise, they will have a training itinerary and the monitoring of their professional development by a tutor.

Furthermore, in view of the Cooperation Agreement signed between the Council and the Canary Islands Employment Service (SCE) for the implementation of this programme, the SCE will carry out a survey of registered persons who meet the requirements already indicated and, subsequently, it will be the Island Corporation who will carry out the selection of candidates through the selection commissions set up for each qualification.
