Ycoden-Daute-Isora Designation of Origin wines are produced from grapes grown on the northwestern tip of Tenerife, an area which enjoys a double façade to the Atlantic Ocean. The current Ycoden-Daute-Isora Designation of Origin wines have their origin in Icod de los Vinos, the region known for the famous Canary wines which were acclaimed by famous people such as Shakespeare. The predominant varieties in this region are listán blanca and listán negra from which reds, whites and rosés are made. There is also a limited but interesting production of sweet wines produced primarily from malvasía and moscatel grapes.
