The Centres for Psychosocial Rehabilitation (CRPS) are facilities for the development of therapeutic programs focusing on the recovery of individuals with disabilities resulting fromserious mental illness in stable stages.
Their objectives are
- To promote the maximum potential of a person in expression of their independence, skills, competences and feelings of self-esteem.
- To promote their permanence within the community.
- To prevent or reduce the risk of psychosocial decline and marginalisation.
- To improve co-existence and the quality of life of individuals and their families.
- To facilitate participation in the process of social and workplace integration.
Who it is aimed at
People who meet the following requisites:
- Those who are aged between 18 and 65 years old.
- Those who suffer a mild or moderate disability and who have limitations in terms of activity and participation.
- Those who are being treated by, have been referred from and are being monitored by the health unit in question.
- Those who, when referred, are psychopathologically balanced (for at least 3 years) or who present no serious symptoms that would render their entry into this facility inadvisable.
- Those who require low-level rehabilitation.
- Those who possess a series of personalised referral objectives as the basis of an individualised rehabilitation plan (PIR).
- Those who wish to participate of their own free will.
- Those who accept and with families who accept the commitment to participate in the centre’s therapeutic program.
Services offered
- The detection and resolution of needs (coping strategies and problem solving).
- Awareness of illness and insight (psychoeducation and psychotherapy).
- Services focusing on cognitive, attentional, memory-related and executive-function problems (neuropsychological rehabilitation, modified therapy).
- Interpersonal Relationships (social perception, communication, assertiveness, resolution of interpersonal problems, social network).
- Delirium and hallucinations (cognitive therapy).
- Other clinical symptoms (cognitive-behavioural therapy).
- Self-esteem and motivation.
- Dynamics, interactions and family environment (family therapy: psychoeducation, communication, problem solving).
As the main objectives of each user’s individualised capacitation program are achieved, a flexible monitoring system will be implemented to ensure the optimisation of the resources and their social inclusion.
