Tenerife Swimming Pool Plan

The Council is collaborating in the reform and construction of aquatic centres, through the Insular Pool Plan, with four objectives:

  • Reform or convert those existing pools which are viable, providing them with modern spaces and technical facilities.
  • Construct new aquatic centres which are accessible to all sectors of the population and which provide a varied choice of sports.
  • Guarantee the viability of centres.

Land use criteria has been decisive in the determining of the location of aquatic centres in Tenerife.

Stages of implementation

  • Short term: 3 years
  • Medium term: 7 years
  • Long term: 10 years.

  • Type 2 pool, basic multi-purpose in San Benito, La Laguna (in use, under municipal ownership and management).

  • Type 1 pool, elementary aquatic space in Buenavista del Norte (in use, under municipal ownership and management).
  • Type 2 pool, basic multi-purpose in Icod de los Vinos (in use, under municipal ownership and management).
  • Type 2 pool, basic multi-purpose in Adeje (in use, under municipal ownership and management).
  • Type 2 pool, basic multi-purpose in Los Silos (in use, under municipal ownership and management).
