The Council is collaborating in the reform and construction of aquatic centres, through the Insular Pool Plan, with four objectives:
- Reform or convert those existing pools which are viable, providing them with modern spaces and technical facilities.
- Construct new aquatic centres which are accessible to all sectors of the population and which provide a varied choice of sports.
- Guarantee the viability of centres.
Land use criteria has been decisive in the determining of the location of aquatic centres in Tenerife.
Stages of implementation
- Short term: 3 years
- Medium term: 7 years
- Long term: 10 years.
