The Canary Islands Employment Service (SCE) is an autonomous body attached to the Ministry for Employment, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, created to promote, improve and foster employment in the Canary Islands.
The SCE replaces the former Canary Island Training and Employment Institute (Icfem) and is defined as a free public service , which can be accessed through its Network of Employment Offices.
Services offered
- Measures to combat unemployment and services for people aged 45 and over experiencing difficulties in finding employment.
- Service for worker training needs (for both the employed and unemployed).
- Provision of various levels of training to women and young people to help contribute to their entry into the workplace.
- Stamping of the unemployment book at town halls, breaking away with and thus avoiding the traditional counter and queue system.
- Personalised service and individual employment placement for users.
