The Council of Tenerife's Centre for the Recovery of Wild Fauna (CRFS) cares for injured animals found by individual citizens and public bodies, such as police forces, as well as other participating entities, such as diving clubs, marinas and fishermen's organisations.

The centre also runs a program where volunteers can assist CRFS staff in caring for the animals in its care, and organises a number of initiatives aimed at raising awareness on fauna protection and recovery.
