In case of heavy snowfall , the Government of the Canary Island's Central Office for Safety and Emergencies and Security 112 , makes the following recommendations :
- Avoid breathing extremely cold air.
- Rug up and ensure your face and head are covered.
- Cancel any trips to the most affected areas.
- If you need to go to the affected areas, obtain information on weather and road conditions.
- Check tyres, brakes and antifreeze.
- Fill up your tank and take warm clothes.
- Be extremely careful of ice on roads.
