The International Music Festival of the Canary Islands begins its 2019 edition, in which it will offer the public 44 concerts on some twenty stages on the eight islands of the Archipelago

Anu Tali is currently one of the most fascinating conductors on the international scene. She is the Principal Conductor of the Sarasota Orchestra and the Nordic Symphony.

The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra will open the event with the opera in concert “Ariadne auf Naxos”, by Richard Strauss, and it will be closed by the group Jordi Savall-Hespèrion XXI, with “The Routes of Slavery, 1444-1888”, in the auditoriums of Tenerife and Gran Canaria, respectively. This edition of FIMC will also feature the Gran Canaria Philharmonic, with the production of Verdi's “Requiem” festival; the Hamburg Philharmonic directed by Kent Nagano and violinist Veronika Eberle; the St. Petersburg Philharmonic directed by Temirkanov, with pianist George Li; the German Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra of Bremen, conducted by David Afkham, the Cadaqués Orchestra, conducted by Anu Tali and the pianist Joaquín Achúcarro; Quiroga Quartet with the prestigious pianist Martha Argerich; London Conchord Ensemble; Tenerife Baroque Orchestra; the Minsk Chamber Philharmonic and the extraordinary concert by Pires.
