Given our insular character, the seaside landscape has a fundamental relevance in the identity of the Tenerife population as well as being a first class tourist resource. In order to promote the richness and diversity of Tenerife's coastal landscapes and encourage their conservation, while fostering the sustainable use of this environment, a guide map has been developed with a selection of the most diverse coastal landscapes on the island. One of the main characteristics of this material is that it aims to show not only the commonly perceived landscape, but also that which is hidden underwater, the submarine landscape, highlighting its interaction with the relief and the life it contains.
