Cabildo de Tenerife

The Section of Education, of Excmo. Insular Cabildo of Tenerife counts among its main objectives developing, in a coordinated way and effective, performances tendentes to favor the animation to the reading and technical of study among the citizens of the island of Tenerife facilitating, in turn, the establishment of stable structures that they allow the development of concrete and punctual activities related with the animation to the reading, the improvement of the school yield, of the process of memorization and of the study, to make from the access to the reading, to the information and the formation a mean of permanent education, an universal right for all; always keeping in mind the specific features of our Island that without place to doubts, it has some social, demographic and territorial very specific characteristics.

It lacks a lot to travel in the road to propitiate the correction of the social imbalances in the access to the information, to the new technologies and the education in general, paraphrasing Ortega and Gasset 'The democratic system is son of the book.'

The Insular Program of Animation to the Reading and Technical of Study, PIALTE, seeks to be a 'Program of All for All' that it impels and intensify the participation of the whole educational community, unifying strategies, articulating the cooperation, with corresponsabilidad approaches and cofinancing, among Consejería of Education, Culture and Sports of the Government of Canaries, the Federation of Municipalities of Canaries, the City councils of the island, the Federation of Mothers and students' Parents and students(FITAPA) as well as, of all the sectors and entities that propitiate the social participation in the insular program.

Hence, it is considered that PIALTE will contribute, to join the efforts and resources that will get close the boy, the youth and the adult to the book, facilitating its access to the world of the culture and the handling of the information, fomenting the habits readers like base of the school success and professional.

Objectives

The objectives of the Insular Program of Animation to the Reading and of Technical of study they are:

• To establish lines of performance of Animation to the Reading and of Technical of Study for, with their strategies, to incorporate resources that facilitate the installation or the consolidation of these in different nucleuses of the municipalities of Tenerife, supporting the establishment and potenciación of stable structures.
• Social promotion of reading habits and access to the information in all the supports.
• To propitiate that the activities and projects spread to the stability and the infantile, juvenile and mature population's bigger participation.
• To promote the so much participation of physical people as juridical, in the offer of activities that it has more than enough animation to the reading and the study techniques exist in the island, creating an instrument of planning and diffusion denominated 'GUIDE OF RESOURCES OF PIALTE.'
• To establish corresponsabilidad approaches and cofinancing with public institutions and with the Educational Community.
