The Museum of Nature and Archaeology (MUNA - Museo de la Naturaleza y Arqueología) is currently holding the “Afrotopos. Towards an African utopia” exhibition, inspired by “Afrotopia”, the acclaimed wok by Senegalese scholar Felwine Sarr. It will run until 1st December, from 9.00 to 20.00 from Tuesday to Saturday and 10.00 to 17.00 on Sundays, Mondays and holidays.

Africa doesn't have to catch up with anyone, it doesn't have to imitate anyone. It needs to achieve decolonisation through an enriching introspection. It should refrain from engaging in the infantilism of other nations, which compete to see which has accumulated the most wealth, technological prowess, powerful emotions, without considering that this irresponsible race endangers the social and natural conditions of human life. In thirty-five years, the African population will represent a quarter of human beings. This demographic weight and vitality will tip the social, political, economic and cultural balances of the planet. "Afrotopia" is not a sweet dream. It is an active utopia that aims to bring to light the vast possibilities of African realities and fertilise these; It is to lead humanity to a higher level.

The exhibition is part of the MusaSenegal Senegelese Culture Festival. Find out more about all the activities.
