The Council, through the Tenerife Opera and the University of La Laguna, through the Institute for Women's Studies, the Pedro Cabrera Cultural Chair and the Vice-Rectorate for Relations with Society, initiate the second edition of the cycle of conferences and activities of Primavera Violeta with the conference "And before Clara Campoamor? Feminism in Spain in the first third of the 20th century", will be presented by Inmaculada Blasco on Thursday 4, starting at 18:30 hours.

Blasco Herranz will explain the keys to understanding the situation of women in Spain in the first third of the 20th century, before the proclamation of the Second Republic on 14 April 1931 and, with it, the emergence of women in the new Parliament, particularly the presence of Clara Campoamor and her defence of the female vote. Primavera Violeta is a programme of conferences that seeks to educate on values of equality through culture by means of a broad interdisciplinary programme of cultural activities that will run until May, tackling different cultural, social and philosophical aspects. All activities of Primavera Violeta will be free of charge until full capacity is reached.
