From Friday 24th to Sunday 26th May, at 19:00 and 21:30, Tenerife Espacio de las Artes (TEA - Tenerife Arts Space) will show "Yomeddine" (2018) by B. Shawky, an emotional social drama about the marginalisation of people suffering from leprosy in Egypt that won the Audience Award and the Youth Award at the Seminci Valladolid Film Festival. General admission is on sale for €4. Friends of TEA, €3.

The film, young Egyptian director A.B. Shawky’s debut feature, presents the nomadic journey of a man with leprosy and a small orphan who go in search of the former’s family. Beshay had never left the leper colony in which he was abandoned as a child. After the death of his wife, he decides to take what few belongings he has and go in search of his roots, along with Obama, a young orphan who joins him on his journey. Beshay crosses Egypt in search of a family and his roots, standing up to the world and overcoming all its difficulties, but also enjoying good moments that the journey has in store.
