The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra will offer on Friday 7, at 19:30 hours, the seventeenth concert of the season, which will be directed by its honorary conductor, Victor Pablo Perez and will have the pianist Jorge Luis Prats as guest soloist. Under the title "Tchaikovsky's Pathetique", the Tenerife Auditorium will host a new programme of the ensemble. Tickets are on sale from €34.

"In Memoriam", by Agustín Ramos, is a piece that evokes the joy of the carnival and pays tribute to this international Tenerife festival. Author of the emblematic song "Santa Cruz en Carnaval" (1974), Ramos, has also been trumpet player of the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra and member of the lyrical-musical group Los Fregolinos. In 1875, the young Petersburger Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky signed the score of the "Piano Concerto No. 1 in B flat minor, opus 23" which remains recorded in the popular imagination, as a fragment of the first movement closed the broadcasted version of "The War of the Worlds", by H. G. Wells, by Orson Wells in 1938. The "Symphony No. 6 in B minor, opus 74" was premiered in 1893, nine days before the death of the Russian genius and posthumously was given the name "Pathetic", which seems to express the suffering of his repressed homosexuality.
