La Casa de los Capitanes (The Captains’ House) in La Laguna will host "The popular fashion of twentieth century Tenerife", an exhibition on the traditional dress of the island. The exhibition will remain open until July 31 at La Casa de los Capitanes in La Laguna. The opening hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., from Monday to Friday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Saturdays. It will be closed on Sundays and holidays.

The exhibition includes, by use of several mannequins, display cases and information panels, different traditional pieces of popular fashion from Tenerife, the uses and customs of the popular classes, from the late 19th century to the 50s and 60s of the 20th century. It aims to show some ways of dressing which were seen in Tenerife, where the influence that Western general fashion had upon the island dress are evident. It is not an exhibition of typical costumes, but a desire to make known some of the preferred ways of dressing of the popular classes of Tenerife, from the late nineteenth century to the mid-twentieth century.
