The Museum of Nature and Archaeology (MUNA) offers a Senegalese cinema season within the MusaSenegal Festival of Senegalese Culture, which will screen medium-length film "Mille Soleils" and shorts "Dem Dem!" and "Une Place Dans L’Avion" on Thursday 29th at 21:30. Admission is free until seating capacity is reached.

  • "Mille soleis" tells the story of two young lovers (Mory and Anta) who dream of leaving Dakar to go to Paris, France. When the time comes, she gets on the boat, but he is unable to leave the dock and abandon his land.
  • In "Partir", a Senegalese fisherman called Matar finds a Belgian passport on a beach in Dakar and decides to use it. On the way, he meets N'Zibou, a crazy expert who measures clouds.
  • "Une Place Dans L’Avion" tells the story of a radio station announcing that a special plane to the United States has been made available to anyone who wants to emigrate; there are no conditions other than asking for a seat, but the seats are limited.
