The Museum of Nature and Archeology (MUNA) hosts the talk "Baobab: the tree of life”, kicking off the MusaSenegal Festival’s cycle of conferences on Thursday 5th at 19:00. It will be led by naturalist Lazarus Sánchez-Pinto and entrance is free until full capacity is reached.

The baobab (Adansonia digitata) is an extraordinary, large and long-living tree that can be found across the semi-arid regions of the African continent. It is often called "the tree of life" because it provides food and shelter to numerous animals, from tiny insects to enormous elephants, and has always provided great benefits to human beings. In this talk, we will talk about its origin, the resources it offers, the legends and stories relating to the tree and also about other species of baobab found in Madagascar and Australia.

The exhibition is part of the MusaSenegal Senegelese Culture Festival. Find out more about all its activities.
