The Museum of Nature and Archeology (MUNA) will host a concert by breathtaking talented singer-songwriter Dakar Kya Loum, which reinstates African art as universal and touches souls across the world. It will take place on Friday 6th at 21:30 as part of the MusaSenegal Senegalese Culture Festival. Admission is free until seating capacity is reached.

At the dawn of her life as an artist, Rokhaya Loum, alias Kya Loum, laid out her future career path with all the conviction of youth: to create her own “African and universal” musical style and to travel around the world with this. With an afro-blues style, with rock, soul and jazz overtones, and her powerful, sweet and vibrant voice she reminds one of the greatest female musicians. When she speaks to you with her angelic voice, it is impossible to anticipate her firy singing voice. A fan of Aretha Franklin and Myriam Makeba, the young singer brings her unique style. Rokhaya Loum inspires respect and has the talent to write her songs in three languages (English, French, Wolof), in addition to composing her own music.

The exhibition is part of the MusaSenegal Senegelese Culture Festival. Find out more about its activities.
