On Tuesday 3 at 19:00, the TEA Tenerife Arts Space screens the documentary "Jacqueline Lamba, painter", a film by Fabrice Maze that examines the work and figure of this renowned French artist. The film will be screened in its original French with subtitles in Spanish. It is a complementary activity to the exhibition "La ciudad sumergida", by Aube Elléouët-Breton (daughter of Jacqueline Lamba). Admission is free and tickets can be collected at the TEA ticket office.

Jacqueline Lamba (Paris, 1910-1993) studied Decorative Arts in Paris before marrying André Breton in 1934. A year later, they came to Tenerife to participate in the Tenerife Surrealism Exhibition and it was Lamba who designed the cover of the catalogue for the exhibition. The artist, who also took part in the surrealist exhibitions of London and Tokyo, made collages, objects and decals. She set out on an artistic path of automatic inspiration in New York in 1941. Her first individual exhibition took place in 1944 at the Norlyst Gallery and her work was also later exhibited at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (1947).
