The three women who inspired Giuseppe Verdi in the creation of his opera "La Traviata" are the focus of the second talk of the Cabildo and University of La Laguna's programme, "Primavera Violeta". It will be presented at the Fine Arts Society on Friday 20 at 19:00 by the General Director of Tenerife Opera, Alejandro Abrante. Admission is free until full capacity is reached.

Over one hour, Abrante will detail the androcentric coordinates of the 19th century society that Verdi portrays through an extensive view of one woman's romantic adventures and misfortunes. "The Image of the Invisible in the Reflection of the Three Women Who Inspired Verdi in La Traviata: Alphonsine Duplessis, Marguerite Gautier and Violeta Valéry” is the title of this talk by Alejandro Abrante. Abrante will also be in charge of directing the staging the opera, which will be performed from 31 May to 3 June at the University of La Laguna's Paraninfo Auditorium and on 9 and 10 June in Garachico.
