El Proyecto de Empleo de Transición Ecológica (PETE), está cofinanciado por el Plan Integral de Empleo de Canarias (PIEC) y el Servicio Canario de Empleo. El objetivo de este proyecto, que comenzó el 8 de marzo de 2021, es la de mejorar la empleabilidad y en consecuencia la inserción laboral de personas, preferentemente, jóvenes desempleadas menores de 30 años y que estuvieran inscritas como demandantes de empleo y también de aquellas en situación de “Paradas de Larga Duración” (PLD).

El Proyecto PETE permitirá que los seleccionados adquieran una experiencia profesional retribuida, trabajando en obras y servicios de interés general y social insular, concretamente en las áreas de Gestión del Medio Natural y Seguridad, Agricultura, Ganadería y Pesca, Desarrollo Sostenible y Lucha contra el Cambio Climático y Carreteras, Movilidad, Innovación y Cultura.

El presupuesto del proyecto asciende a 1.762.790,57 euros, de los cuales 1.603.179,18 euros son aportados por el Servicio Canario de Empleo y 159.611,39 euros corresponden al Cabildo de Tenerife.

El Cabildo de Tenerife a través del área de Empleo, Desarrollo Socioeconómico y Acción Exterior ha habilitado 150 puestos de trabajo relacionados con la lucha contra el cambio climático y la transición ecológica justa, que han sido cubiertos con contrataciones laborales de personas desempleadas por un periodo de 6 meses y para los cuales se han seleccionado:

  • Ocho técnicos superiores (biólogos, agrónomos, ingenieros industriales, periodistas…)
  • Ocho técnicos medios (Ingenieros Técnicos Industriales, Arquitectos Técnicos, Ingenieros Técnicos de Obras Públicas…)
  • Diecinueve capataces (forestales, agrícolas, de construcción…)
  • Ocho vigilantes
  • Un administrativo
  • Seis conductores
  • Noventa y cinco peones (forestales, agrícolas, de obras públicas…)
  • Y cinco técnicos especialistas en educación y control ambiental.

Entre sus labores están las de gestión de los espacios naturales protegidos y la Red Natura 2000 y en la divulgación de sus valores entre la sociedad de la Isla para ellos se realizan actividades directamente relacionadas con la gestión de residuos, gestión de aguas, protección y mantenimiento de zonas naturales y control de la energía, así como prevención de catástrofes ecológicas y conservación de la biodiversidad.

Actualmente el proyecto se encuentra a la mitad de su ejecución.

The Training, Employment and Business Development Foundation (FIDEDE) organises a range of activities that include courses, programmes and activities related to training, generating employment and integrating both workers and the unemployed into the job market, in addition to promoting entrepreneurship and the social economy.

Programmes

  • PI-CA Project .- designed to help the unemployed integrate into society and the job market through an adapted accompaniment system.
  • Conformac Project .- designed to improve and strengthen the competitiveness of businesses run by the self-employed in the Canary Islands, the Azores, Madeira and the Cape Verde Islands.
  • Emprende con Color (“Do Business in Colour”) Project .- designed to support, guide, inform, mentor and train entrepreneurs that have developed a business project and are seeking to set it up, as well as those who have already started their business activity.

Services offered

  • Personalised advice
    The Foundation provides personalised advice on the resources available for active job hunting, in addition to information about its current training activities and the key steps involved in becoming self-employed.
  • Free candidate selection
    FIFEDE also offers companies, consultancies and other institutions looking to begin the selection process the opportunity to use its services to select the candidates that best fit their profile, free of charge.
    This new initiative and the other employment-related activities carried out by the Foundation since its creation, such as the New Life and Equal programmes, aim to help achieve full employment in the Canary Islands and improve the current prospects and motivation of today’s unemployed citizens.
