The Council of Tenerife's Organic Unit for Livestock, which belongs to the Technical Service for Livestock and Fishing, works to support, preserve and develop the island's livestock sector.
It does so by means of a variety of different infrastructures and a team of experts specialised in the different livestock subsectors who work to improve local production, especially in the case of native breeds.
Due to the diversity of livestock production on the island, the Council of Tenerife has had to pay special attention to developing specific programs to support the diverse livestock subsectors on the island.

- Support program for artisan cheesemake.
- Support program for the production of cow's milk cheese (Safeval Program).
- Support program for the Canarian breed of cattle.
- Creation of a Rabbit Insemination Centre.
- Program for the conservation and promotion of the Canarian black pig.
