The municipality of Los Silos is located in the north east of the island of Tenerife and borders with Buenavista del Norte to the west, El Tanque and Garachico to the east and Santiago del Teide to the south. Los Silos stretches from the peaks to the sea and its rocky coastline is home to numerous small coves and natural ponds, where visitors can enjoy all types of water sports; especially underwater sports, which have become increasingly popular in the area in the past few years. The municipality is also home to an interesting residual thermophile forest with wonderful populations of mastic trees and palos de sangre, or "sticks of blood", amongst others.
